International Summer School on Data Science in Software Engineering

On 12-16 July, the Laboratory of Software Testing, Tomsk Polytechnic University hosted the online Summer School on Data Science in Software Engineering. We got a great opportunity to explore Data Science from various perspectives with representatives of IT companies Huawei, Exactpro, DeepPavlov, and high-ranking universities Tomsk Polytechnic University and Higher School of Economics.

As part of the school’s program, Exactpro specialists gave their presentations on the following topics:

"A Reference Architecture for HiVAT (High Volume Automated Testing)" — Iosif Itkin, CEO and co-founder of Exactpro. The presentation discussed the general concept of high volume automated testing (HiVAT) –  first introduced by Cem Kaner – and the examples of HiVAT techniques.

"Machine Learning in Non-Functional Testing" — Maxim Nikiforov, Project Manager at Exactpro. Maxim reviewed the practical experience of using Machine Learning for the early detection of frozen processes in loaded systems.

"Automated Ambiguity Detection in Software Specifications" — Elena Treshcheva, Program Manager at Exactpro. The lecture focused on the problem of ambiguity in software requirements as well as provided an overview of state-of-the-art methods of automated ambiguity detection.
