Alyona Bulda, Head of the Global Exchanges Division at Exactpro, has received the Rising Star award in the inaugural European Women in Finance Awards 2020.
Following the success of Markets Media’s Women in Finance Awards programs in New York and Hong Kong, the European event aims to recognize and celebrate the most accomplished women in the region impacting all aspects of the financial industry.
Alyona has over 10 years of professional experience with Exactpro – a leading independent provider of software testing services for mission-critical technology that underpins global financial markets.
Alyona graduated with a MSc in CAD systems from Kostroma State Technological University and then began her professional career as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, later becoming a Test Lead. In that role, she focused on setting up testing operations for MTFs, interdealer brokers, clearing houses and central counterparties as well as an FPGA-accelerated Market Data Dissemination platform.
As Head of the Global Exchanges Division, Alyona spearheads Exactpro’s Quality Assurance (QA) projects across global financial institutions operating Traditional equity and derivative exchanges, Crypto assets and Fixed income.
As part of her remit with Exactpro, Alyona has also been at the forefront of the FIX Protocol MOST Working Group which tracks the efficiency and resilience of the existing Monitoring, Onboarding and Software Testing tools available to the FIX Trading Community members.

Alyona is also a frequent speaker at industry events and an avid contributor to the Exactpro research activities aimed at driving innovation in the QA space, including the award-winning "ClearTH Test Automation Framework: A Running Example of a DLT-Based Post-Trade System”. The work received the Best Tool Demo award at IEEE’s ICST 2019 Conference in Xi'an, China last year.
