This year, Exactpro has expanded internship opportunities available to Georgian students by joining the Facilitation of Internship and On-the-Job Learning Opportunity for Students project. This is a joint project organised by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Economic Security Program (DAI) and the Center for Institutional and Opportunity Development (ICDC).
The multi-party initiative aims to increase the amount of qualified staff in businesses across Georgia’s various sectors, to help young specialists develop their practical skills and establish a well-functioning business relations network between young people and employers.
To benefit from the project, interns undergo an application process and a round of rigorous interviews with the agency representatives and potential employers. Once the internship is confirmed, an individual learning program is prepared and a progress plan mapped out by the host company. The monthly stipend is partly subsidised by the USAID and partly compensated by the employer.
“The Facilitation of Internship and On-the-Job Learning Opportunity for Students project was founded by USAID Economic Security Programme. ICDC is proud to foster the project that aims, in particular, to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Georgia and dedicate efforts to increasing the security of the Georgian people, opening up opportunities in promising fields of work for the young talent and future-proofing their skills, among other goals. We are also pleased to welcome Exactpro to this collaborative project. We believe that our goals align in both scale and depth of the transformative effect we strive to have on the young generation”, says Maka Kukava, president of the Institutional and Capacity Development Center (ICDC) and Project Manager of Facilitation of Internship and On-the-Job Learning Opportunity for Students.
“We are excited to support the initiative and to be hosting two student interns within this joint project. Such hands-on experience gives students a head start in their professional career and opens infinite possibilities, including but not limited to starting a permanent job with Exactpro. This first internship is a successful beginning to what promises to be a long-term partnership with USAID, DAI and ICDC. It is a great honor to continue supporting Georgian students and young specialists on their career development path”, says Natia Sirbiladze, CEO of Exactpro Systems Georgia.
